Chiropractor & Fake Teeth

That's whats's happening with me. I'm going to the Chiropractor 3 times a week and in early 2005 I'm getting veneers to make my teeth look perfect. And it's because I have a great husband that wants me to do it. He encourages me to take care of myself and I love him for it.

On a sadder note, things are not so great in the Garson family right now and we're taking a trip up to Mike's mom's house this weekend. I can't get into details right now, but everyone is physically fine. After this weekend, I will post what is going on.

Here's a bunch of interesting stuff.

1. Coffee Maker:I got my coffeemaker and I LOVE it. Here's an email I wrote to my family:
Dear Everyone,

Well, the coffee maker has arrived and I must say...this is the BEST coffee I've ever had from a coffee maker.

At first, the taste was "different", almost unfamiliar. Now I'm wondering how I ever drank anything else. It is full-bodied and cafe like. I am TOTALLY happy. The one I got has 2 small scrapes on the surface that is probably why it was "refurbished". But if those 2 scrapes are worth 50 bucks, I am happy. And it has a 50.s retro style that I LOVE. It was worth the wait. I will need a "cone" style filter though (Mike, can you get one for me on the way home?). I'd love for everyone to have a taste of it.

2. Cute Guy:I told Mike there was this guy at the gym that I thought was kind of cute. I pointed him out to Jessica one time and she didn't get it AT ALL. I didn't care. But then I saw his wife...a kind of mousy, unattractive liberal type that (last time I saw her) was wearing an ugly save the whales’ tee and seems like the type of PBS subscriber that actually carries the tote. I got the recent YMCA book (featuring events, news and classes) and lo and behold, guess who was in it. Yes. That guy. In a before/after shot. He weighed 360 before and went to the Y and lost all that weight.

3. Emmett: Emmett can now really craw, says "Good" and "Dada", eats our food, tries to say "Asriel" and gets up at 6:30 AM sometimes. He is almost a year old and I'm planning a birthday party for him ( a small party). I bought the invitations today. This is a first because usually we make them. I also need to remember to get his 1-year photos taken.

4. Politics:In terms of politics, I HATE KERRY. More than Bush, I hate him. I think he is sleazy, slimy, divisive, cunning, conniving and comes across like a lawyer desperate to win. And a poor lawyer at that, since I can see right through his "hunting trip" (A.K.A "hey middle America, I won't take away your guns"). I CANNOT STAND THE MAN. And I don't care what anyone reading thinks of me, if it came down to it, I WOULD VOTE FOR BUSH. No debating with me. I go by instinct and I DO NOT TRUST KERRY. I'm not interested in hearing why you think I'm wrong. Be a good liberal and accept my feelings for what they are and don't try to convince me otherwise. Chances of me voting in this election are very VERY slim. But I HATE JOHN KERRY.

5. Christmas: We are going to LA for Christmas and I have mixed feelings. Thank God we have a 2-stop flight,. What would seem to be a pain at any other time in my life is a Godsend. We can change Emmett, walk him around, feed him, show him things etc. etc. He was a good traveler when we took a 6-hour car ride to CT. Hopefully he'll be a good traveler here too.

6. Our Anniversary:We went to the Pocono’s for our Anniversary and it was WONDERFUL. We just relaxed and drove around a lot, "considering" a second home for ourselves. (we were in dreamland). I loved it in the day, but at night I got scared. We were in the woods and I feel so, so vulnerable there. We went to Red Lobster Friday night (I love that place and don't care that it's a chain). Saturday night we went to a German bar and had good beer and German food. We met many "locals" (sort of) and realized that a lot of the area comes in from New York. It rained and we didn't care. We got pumpkin ice cream at an ice cream stand open until Halloween and watched the real estate channel for awhile. It was so, so good and so so needed.

7. Work:In terms of work, I thought I was getting stiffed by my client. But yesterday, I received a very large check. I had two clients try that before so I am extremely paranoid and suspicious about everything. I have a lot more work for him and he seems semi loaded. Today I found he's a democrat all you readers will be happy to know. He's from San Francisco and did Clockwerk Eventz (raves etc.) in Northern CA. Being that you're all such hardcore clubbers, I figured that name would ring a bell.

8. Movie:The movie is on the last leg. The Web site is up (just needing home page copy and some small revisions) and we have the promo kit almost complete. Those who participated will receive a package very soon. I CANNOT wait to have this out there and done with.

9. Mike's Hair:Mike got his hair cut in a kind of spiky way. I am always sticking it up, but he feels self conscious at work.

10. Party Idea:I had an idea for a fun party. A XANADU party. I love and miss that movie. That and the Neverending Story. I really, REALLY miss that movie.

11. Haunting Memories:Because it's Halloween, I'm thinking of my old friend Seph a lot lately. This is his favorite time of year and I'm sure he's having a kick-ass party. It's hard to not go but it's for the best.

12. Atkins: I am not on Atkins. We went away for our anniversary and it was over.

13. Beer Tasting Festival: Mike and I went to our first Beer Tasting Festival (compliments of Ana for his birthday). We couldn't do it. We were getting wasted way too fast. We ended up "splitting" cupfuls to taste the beer. The weirdest thing was that I think Mike and I were the only people that were there, actually wanting to taste the beer. everyone else was just there to get drunk it seemed.

14. "The Somethings" a band of famous people like Ana, Colin, Dave and Anthony are playing this weekend in Upper Darby. Since there are so many anonymous people reading this blog, I encourage all of you to go see them...and tell your friends.

15. Debt:We have paid off about 30% of our debt. Each penny brings us closer to home.
