You love spiders.

Well. YOu love Inky Dinky Spider actually.

You are now an official member of Gymboree. You are almost to Level 2 baby food. You said Dada. You react to jokes. You are so smart and so cute, I can hardly believe that you are my son.

I continue to be paranoid about my mothering skills, realizing that sometimes you just want me to hold you. When I realize that, I can hardly believe it. So often, you daddy adn I will be sitting there and I'll find you're staring at me. As soon as I look at you, you reach out your arms and arch your back to reach me. I feel so important.

Today, you were absolutely perfect as usual. We were visiting with these two ladies (Mrs. Ferarri & Valerie Ferarri) and you were SO CUTE the entire time. I couldn't believe it. You didn't cry. You didn't even need your chompie. I was so proud to be your mom.

Here are some things going on in our lives:
1. Your dad starts work on Monday. He's working at UHS in King of Prussia and will do a great job of supporting us.

2. We are busily planning your Christening. It is a very big deal and your father and I are constantly working on it with help from your Nona and Yaya.

3. I am still doing one job at home, but have stopped accepting work and feel that God has told me not to work anymore. This has been very hard for me as I am very driven to make money, but I realize lately that it makes much better sense. I'm starting to accept it.

4. We watched the final episode of Survivor together and you stayed up to see Amber win, to hear your parents depressed, and then you fell asleep.

5. My clothing is all over the house. For some ODD reason, over the winter your father decided to put moth balls with all of my clothing. All of it. Not that ANY of it was made of wool. So now, all of my clothing stinks like moth balls. Every day there are clothes everywhere as he attempts to get the smell out.

6. We now go to Gymboree officially. Every Tuesday, we head out to Hockessin and YOU LOVE IT. (and that makes me love it too)

7. We are weaning you off chompies slowly. We're supposed to at 6 months.

8. We go to the Gym every day. You go to Kid's Corner and for a little while, you would cry and they would always have to come and get me. But lately, you love it. And they all love you.

9. I'm on the ATkins diet and have lost about 12 pounds. YOu don't notice anything except that we go out more.

10. I smother you with kisses everymoring and you laugh and smile.

11. We have had BBQ's with Yaya and Papou every night on the porch, and you enjoy feeling a part of the family.

12. Aunt Ana is away visiting her boyfriend (possibly future husband) Jason Alan Kuntz in North Dakota. Ana is the only other person that makes you laugh like you laugh with me.

Even at this early age, I can tell you are a morning person, a dreamer, that you have a single track mind, that you have expensive taste, that you are an artist, that you like to watch people, that you can tune out things you don't want to hear, that you are happy, that you are fun.

Cutest thing that happened with Dad:
Dad was sitting on the couch eating shrimp. You were crying wanting to eat some shrimp. Dad said "Emmett! You can't have any shrimp because you are a shrimp. How can you eat shrimp if you are one?

Cutest thing that happened with Mom
You were sitting in your high chair and I was hiding under the high chair and "poping" up adn you would squeal with giggles and delight.

You stuck your tounge out at me.

And I tried to get you to do it again for Ana, and you wouldn't.

It was so cute. You were on your back and I was leaning over you and I stuck my tongue out at you and you stuck your tongue out at me. Then, you kept trying to touch my tongue, but I wouldn't let you. That part was gross.

You are very drooley these days, almost uncontrollably at times. I try to keep it under control and you don't mind.

So now you snuggle with blankets.

Dear Emmett,

All of the sudden, you are like this aware kid. You fake laugh...you giggle...you demand attention...and you sleep ON YOUR SIDE hugging a blanket up to your chin. Mike and I can hardly believe it. Yesterday, you had this big issue. I put shoes on your feet and you hated them. You were crying all through church and afterwards at Uncle Colin's and as soon as I took them off, you were fine. What a strong little personality you have.

In other news, I entered you into a baby contest. It's a Babies R Us & American Baby magazine contest so I know there will be thousands of entries. If you don't win, it's not because you aren't the cutest baby. It's because there are thousands of entries.

I am on the Atkins diet these days and you don't seem to notice or care. That just in.

Let me think if there's anything else. I'm tired and I can't think of too much more. Let me ask your father. "mike did anything else significant happen with Emmett?"
(Dad) "Oh. Um. No. Just more and more aware. He was looking at this shirt today. Like he could grab it -- like the picture". (He's wearing a Wesley Willis decal shirt). I noticed that too. YOu are very into touching things -- textures. You were rubbing the window frame wood today and you love to give me kisses. You also love playing with the ball we got you from Gymboree.

Other Events:

1. Gymboree: Last Gymboree you didn't want to interact with me as much as you wanted to interact with the kid next to you. You were staring at him and laughing at everything he did.

2. Resale: We took you to a kid's resale and bought you tons of clothing and a few toys. Your dad got you a huge truck.

3. "Hi": I swear. YOu said "Hi" to me the other day. I said "Hi" and you said "Hi".

4. Rolling Over: Today you rolled over all by yourself. I made a very big deal of it and I don't think you could remember why I was rejoicing.

5. Food: You're getting fussy and we can't keep up. Sometimes you like peas. Sometimes you don't. Sometimes you like oatmeal. Someteims you don't.

Regardless, I adore you at all times and I love seeing you in the morning. Your dad brings you in at about 4 or 5. I nurse you and then you fall asleep with us. At about 7, you start kicking and punching me and when i turn to face you, your entire face lights up and blazes with joy.

Oh how I love you Emmett.
